  9. San Diego, June 10, 1994,  Pages Software Inc announced a resizing
  10.  
  11. today, to better align resource levels with expected revenues. "We
  12.  
  13. have taken this step to strengthen the company's financial
  14.  
  15. performance.  While reducing staffing levels, we plan to continue
  16.  
  17. to support our customers and prospects, as well as continue to
  18.  
  19. evolve our Document Processing product under NEXTSTEP," states
  20.  
  21. Larry Spelhaug, Pages' CEO. "We believe this is the right business
  22.  
  23. decision; it has the full support of our investors and Board of
  24.  
  25. Directors and will yield a stronger and more responsive company
  26.  
  27. over the long term."

  29. Though Pages eliminated 12 positions from all functional areas,
  30.  
  31. the company's Sales, Marketing, and Engineering departments will
  32.  
  33. remain focused on the company's mission to support their
  34.  
  35. ObjectBased Document Processor and their NEXTSTEP customers.

  37. NeXT, Inc. CEO Steve Jobs agrees with Spelhaug's decision to
  38.  
  39. rightsize. "I believe Pages has made the right decision, and I
  40.  
  41. support their efforts to focus on the NEXTSTEP market. Pages'
  42.  
  43. current direction has 100% of NeXT's support ."
